Sorry I haven't updated in a while! I'm getting ready for an anime convention up in Tulsa in less than 8 days, so got lots of cosplay stuff to do..oh, and got an artist table this year! Making charms and stuff. So if any of you guys happen to be going as well, come by the table to say "tomboy" (eye contact is necessary) and I'll give you a discount. ;D

about the comic:
In that moment that came after his comment, years of memories came flooding back. All pieced together. How I had asked him questions about homosexuals for a few days because I had heard all sort of derogatory remarks about gays. How he'd keep telling me how he liked most of my friends--primarily girls--that I brought home for them to meet (because my parents don't like me sleeping over with a friend they don't know). How I prefer hanging out with my dad and brother to my mom, even dressing more boyish in order to fit in. How I have never had a boyfriend, and how I even mentioned to him that he probably didn't need to worry about me having boyfriend problems; I failed to include the reason for that: my very traditional mind-set (common derogatory term, "prude").
Just..it really was a revelation. Nothing's different or changed. Several chains of memory just clicked into place in a way that makes more sense.

To the people who are in the closet because you're afraid of how your parents will react: it's a bit moot, but you should have gotten my dad. Seems like his acceptance is a waste on me in this aspect.

My parents know I'm a lesbian and were just all "oh she's cute. Good job!" So I have cool parents.

@nerdherd4: Isn't that Oklahoma?

Does your pops actually have that kind of 'stache? 'Cause that some pretty classy face fur.

Saw this comic, read the whole thing in one go. Needless to say, I had violent spasms of laughter that cost me one of my many pencils. Completely worth it.

I'm laughing because I have the same problem. XD

@AlternateName: Pfft, "good job"... Cool parents indeed!

@nerdherd4: I will say nothing more than this--these is an anime convention in Tulsa this weekend. Google can provide the rest. ;D

@ApaFox: Legit 'stache, man. He loves Western everything.

@CapitalM: Glad you enjoy it! Hopefully you can get that pencil back..

@bluestarkokoro: With your parents, too? XD

...but I'm exactly like that. :I
Seriously.
Also, are you by any chance a Sherlockian(BBC or classic?) :D
Fun Fact: Did you know Sherlock's original name was to be Sherrinford?

Reply D-KeyNote, July 15th, 2012, 11:43 pm

@coelacanthi: Good to hear that! Er, the part about loving it. Not sure about relating to this being good.. >.>

@-music-: Yes to both! ACD is Sherlock Gospel, but I am personally biased toward BBC. And Sherriford and Osmond, wasn't it? XD

Reply -music-, July 16th, 2012, 1:15 am

@D-KeyNote: ...please tell me you have a tumblr so i can stalk you *cough* what?
Osmond. YES. XD
I think I like that name WAAAY too much.

This is so awesome! I just started reading, and I've gotta say, this is just great. I'm not exactly a tom-boy but this really makes me laugh and I think your short hair is cute. I could NEVER pull off short hair. :) I really love this comic, can't wait for the next update!

Reply D-KeyNote, July 18th, 2012, 2:05 am

@-music-: Yes.. Though it's mainly centered around BBC stuff. In fact, my URL is britishbromancecompany. >.>

@perikink: I'm very pleased that you enjoy this silly comic! It's really not that special, but I'll try to update more when I can. :)

@D-KeyNote: (sorry about responding so much)
I think we'll get along, you and I. That's basically about the only thing I post, too.

Oh yeah, I'm lavenderfeline. I feel late (-3-')

Reply bluestarkokoro, July 18th, 2012, 2:37 pm

@D-KeyNote: Yes. And my friends. And my classmates. It's actually funny sometimes.

My mom has been asking me questions like that too.... Due to certain circumstances, I'm, pretty sure she thinks I'm asexual or a lesbian... -.-

Reply Jam1, August 4th, 2012, 8:21 am

Yup. Went through the same thing with my parents. I guess wearing boy's clothes (They're comfortable!) and showing zero interest in boys will do that.

When I came out to my mom she started singing "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry to me whenever she got the chance. (LOUDLY AND CONSTANTLY!)
